The stages of the application development process using a low-code platform

12.06.2024

Working with the nAxiom low-code platform means you can quickly implement applications without coding. The simplest applications on the nAxiom platform are created in as little as 15 minutes. Below we present abbreviated stages of the application creation process using the modern platform.

One of the many advantages of the low-code platform is the quick construction of new solutions. This is because the work does not require as much coding as in the case of the traditional method of software delivery. Applications are built from ready-made components and tested on an ongoing basis.

What are the stages of the application creation process using the low-code platform?

Low-code platforms increase the flexibility of building applications and significantly speed up access to new functionalities for the end user. The nAxiom platform allows you to create an unlimited number of applications, which are treated as containers in which the required functionalities are compiled. Working in the low-code platform involves defining subsequent functionalities using the 'drag and drop' method. Creating functionality involves several steps.

First, you need to define the data model in which the required information will be stored. In the next step, a wizard is launched, which automatically creates a mockup of the future application, taking care of generating all the necessary objects.

The mockup consists of the following components:

  • Business document - a business process document. This is a declaration of individual functionality that binds the remaining components together.
  • Business process - this is a sequence of states in which a document processed in a given functionality can be.
  • Form view - this is an element of the user interface that allows both entering and editing data. The form view contains elements that control the flow of actions in the application.
  • List view - this is another element of the user interface, which in turn is responsible for viewing data.

The next step is the stage of expanding the automatically generated functionality mockup based on the individual needs of the client. Publishing ready-made solutions in nAxiom consists of:

  • defining the user's menu items,
  • linking the menu items to the list or form view,
  • assigning permissions for the appropriate business roles.

After performing these activities and logging in to nAxiom, the user associated with the given business role can already use the application.
