The challenges related to the development of an organization appear practically every day and in every link of the organization. Whether you are a warehouse, production line, service employee, accountant, salesperson, HR specialist or director - you have to face them.

In the overwhelming majority of cases, the challenges related to the development of any organization are addressed, sooner or later, to the IT department. This is where problems from all other departments automatically end up. And it is IT that must ultimately find a solution that will help the organization cope with these challenges. At the same time, the opposite situation occurs. Namely, the problems that the IT department struggles with affect the effectiveness of the remaining elements of the organization. It is therefore worth focusing on this bottleneck and finding a solution that will allow for a flexible and effective response to problems identified in the IT area.

4 Key IT Challenges

Let us take a look at four key situations in which IT, and therefore the entire organization, currently encounters significant difficulties. They are often highly cost-intensive, and often even inhibit the development of the organization. These include:

  1. The need to modernize and expand the functionality of the software used (e.g. ERP, MRP, DMS, CRM, Intranet, domain applications, etc.).
  2. Inconsistency of the environment of so-called "under-the-desk users", i.e. distributed business applications.
  3. Digitization of existing internal and external processes.
  4. Implementation of innovative applications supporting new business areas.

Software modernization

In such situations, it often happens that the valuation of changes to functionality in the ERP system or other software surprises the organization both in terms of costs and the proposed deadline. Situations when there is a need to change or supplement something in the system in use, and the supplier says "NO" are no less rare. This "NO" can be expressed in various ways, e.g.:

  • you will get a deadline so far away that the entire change will lose its meaning,
  • you will get a price so unacceptable that it can only be understood as "No, we won't do it",
  • or someone will not specify either the price or the deadline.

In the best case, the software manufacturer will inform that it cannot implement the expected change individually for the organization, which means that it must cope on its own in this respect. This approach of manufacturers is caused by insufficient availability of programmers and high costs of individual modifications, which is why they focus on their basic functionality and are simply unable to handle such changes. Meanwhile, the organization needs new functionalities quickly to operate effectively.

Distributed applications

"Podbiurkowce" is the Polish term for the term "Shadow IT". These are all applications developed, purchased or installed in different versions outside the organization's workflow and individually managed by employees. These most often include various registers, larger or smaller databases, calculations, budgets, forecasts and other similar solutions. This is a nightmare from the point of view of effective IT management, which means high maintenance costs, lack of consistency, lack of automation, lack of security, lack of archiving, low efficiency, legal problems related to the selection of licenses, costly human errors.

Digitization and automation

Today, digitalization and automation are not even a matter of cutting costs as a result of optimization, but simply a prerequisite for understanding processes in the organization and achieving higher efficiency. This is also a condition that the organization must meet in order to be able to quickly respond to changes. Processes are often modified because the entire environment is constantly changing. All of them can be implemented on a single platform, reducing the costs of maintaining the IT environment and training employees, and additionally stimulating their creativity and increasing their involvement.

Innovative applications

Every organization develops its business and seeks new areas of activity. This requires the implementation of innovative applications and software that meet the requirements of handling new ideas. Innovations should be implemented quickly, otherwise they will cease to be innovations. They must also allow for process prototyping and rapid modifications so that they can support the organization regardless of the changing environment around it.

Low Code Platform

nAxiom Low Code is the answer to all of the above problems. It is a platform for building applications, but without low-level coding. Applications are built using components that are pre-designed and available on the platform. These elements can be edit and selection fields, tables, charts and graphic elements, comments, attachments and many others. The platform provides a user interface and a framework for building applications, and also provides a set of useful tools and modules, such as identity and permission management, helpdesk, chat, connectors to external systems, etc.

Tangible benefits

nAxiom translates directly into a several-fold reduction in the time of creating and implementing applications compared to traditional methods, better adaptation to user needs, easier modification in the face of changes and integration with external solutions. Application prototypes can be built in hours, and sometimes minutes. You can simply create your applications as fast as decisions are made, and on top of that with greater involvement of future users.
